Spend your Thursday night enjoying the beautiful Perth views at Fraser’s Restaurant, in Perth’s iconic Kings Park, and relishing in their seasonal menu. The Gala Dinner will be a great opportunity to network with professionals within the industry and reconnect with colleagues and friends. At the Gala Dinner, English Australia will announce the winners of its annual ELICOS Awards. For your dinner attire, we invite all dinner guests to wear a touch of sparkles to represent Perth, the ‘City of Light.’ As the sunniest capital in the world, and the city whose lights were seen from space in 1962, Perth has earnt its longstanding nickname of the ‘City of Light.’ Think sequins, bling, gold lamé, glitter, jewels, and metallics.

Academic Managers’ Breakfast
Academic Managers are invited to join us for a networking breakfast on the morning of Thursday 12 September, taking place before the main conference program begins. This networking breakfast is a long-standing tradition of the English Australia Conference and is an opportunity for Academic Managers to come together, network, and discuss current issues. This year’s breakfast will be hosted by the English Australia Academic Managers’ Special Interest Group.

Study Perth has generously sponsored a Perth river cruise exclusively for English Australia Conference delegates on the afternoon of Friday 13 September. Delegates can join the cruise free of charge to experience the hospitality of Study Perth and our Perth program committee.
Our Conference concludes at 1pm on Friday and you can then catch a Conference bus to Barrack Street Jetty to jump on the river cruise at 2pm. From there, cruise up the Swan River to Fremantle, take a guided tour around Fremantle (or enjoy the iconic Gage Roads Brewery instead), and catch a coach back to Perth city by 6.15pm.
You can register for the cruise at the time you complete your English Australia Conference registration. Hurry as cruise places are limited and we will take the first 100 people who register!
